Lovely day out at Port Issac and a nice bite to eat at the Slipway. It was a little pricey but the food was very, very good. We only had some snacks but it was early in the day, so we didn't want to fill ourselves up. The outside seating was very busy, so we ate inside, we were shown to our table and took the dog with us, which was not a problem. Service was good and not a long wait after ordering. All in all very good.
Stopped in for lunch. We had fish and chips and a vegan burger. The fish and chips were by far the best we have had so far since being on holiday in Cornwall. Well worth the price. And the vegan burger, I am told, was excellent also. Portion sizes are spot on. Stop by if you're in Port Isaac!
We went here as a quick stop for a drink and food.
We found a little gem.
Food looks pricey on the menu but you get what you pay for. The portions are a plate full 😍 and they have vegan options and the staff was wonderful. I would definitely come back here with family or friends.
Had lunch here.. excellent food, but pricey as are the drinks.. probably able to charge a premium due to the fame of Port Isaac. But the food was really good as was the service.. only complaint therefore is the price..
Gorgeous food and great service however prices start at £20 for a burger meal to £32 for a steak. This was August 2023.
It is a brilliant location by the water in the place made famous by the Doctor Martin TV show so people are paying the price for it.
We booked a room for one night and absolutely loved our stay. The view of the harbour was wonderful, the room was very nicely decorated and the breakfast was really good! There was both a breakfast bar with juice, cereal and fruit and also cooked food to order from the menu. The french toast was divine! When we first booked the room, we thought it was quite pricey (nothing else was available in Port Isaac for one night), but considering the location, quality of the room and breakfast included, the price was actually ok.
Didn’t manage to even get to eat due to the rudeness of what turns out to be the manager. I stood outside and asked for a table, to which I was abruptly greeted with how many ! I explained two people but my friend was in the sweet shop opposite and will be joining me. To which I was extremely rudely snapped at and told “YOU CANT EAT here” I was astounded and explained we wanted to eat from the menu at the restaurant, yet again I was snapped at again by the rude woman who said you can’t eat them here, I politely explained we did not want to sit in there restaurant at eat the sweets and wanted to spend good money on there menu, by this time as I was greeted by such a rude and obnoxious person who quite clearly didn’t want my business I told her not to bother and will go somewhere else, where we spent our money and explained to the locals what had happened and apparently this isn’t something new she is known for being rude and obnoxious. I would not recommend one ounce if that’s how they greet you. Found another restaurant local and they were fantastic. Take your money elsewhere.
We visited the slipway as we have done many times when in cornwall. We sat outside and had a drink and took my 5 year old daughter to get an ice cream at the shop opposite. When we went back we sat down at the outside table we had been at before, as we were about to order another round we were rudely told to leave because my little girl wasn’t allowed to eat her ice cream there. Ridiculous is all i can say, to chuck out a family because a little girl had an ice cream cone.
We were warmly welcomed by the lovely staff at The Mote.
